search to donate for youth rights [12 Dec 2006|03:33pm]

Every search you make at GoodSearch generates a free donation of about one cent to an organization you can choose from among more than 24,000. These include the National Youth Rights Association, the Albany Free School (listed only as Free School), as well as four Sudbury-type schools: Alpine Valley School, Big Rock Sudbury School, The Clearwater School, and Hudson Valley Sudbury School.

Could someone please re-parent me? [23 May 2006|05:13pm]

My parents treated me mostly, but not completely as an equal, and have formed my personality somewhat. Could someone please give me the kind of help a non-ageist adult would give their child, and help me become who I want to become? Of course, because I want to be equal, I am also ready to help these people or others, in this way or in others. Many thanks in advance!

how can I advertise anti-ageism? [17 Jan 2006|05:26pm]

Now that the number of our userpics has doubled, I'd like to use some of mine to advertise causes. Could anyone please suggest how to advertise anti-ageism in a userpic? Thanks in advance!

Could anyone please beta-read for me? [01 Sep 2005|08:20pm]

Here, I’ve posted about my plans to promote anti-ageism through fanfiction, including a finished Remnants/Les Miserables filk. Since __remnants likes for fics to be beta read in advance, I’d like to ask if anyone could please beta it for me. Even if you don’t know the fandoms, just checking the grammar would be a great help. Thanks in advance!

links [01 Jul 2005|08:09pm]

I’m not sure what you guys mean by "resources" in the community profile, could you please explain to me? Thanks in advance! In the meantime, I thought I’d post a few links to LJ communities and other sites. I hope this helps…but please tell me if it’s inappropriate.

I think you guys already know _youthrights, antiageism, fuck_ageism, teenageriots, unschoolers, and unschooling. I’ve also found uncollege, radicallearning (for kids, teachers, and parents), and unschoolradical (for parents). And alice_miller, a community for discussions of Alice and psychohistory, also has "youth rights" among its interests; and it’s through Alice’s book For Your Own Good that I first learned of Ekkehard von Braunmühl and anti-pedagogy.
The links page of my favorite K.R.Ä.T.Z.Ä has sites on anti-pedagogy, but unfortunately, they’re in German. At least K.R.Ä.T.Z.Ä itself is in seven languages, including English.
And I’d like to take the chance to advertise saveourstar, my community about an anti-ageist sci-fi series for kids.

Care2 Connect is in some ways like LJ, but without blogs (yet), and particularly for activists: "the global network of organizations and people who Care2 make a difference." There, I’ve found the groups Voting Rights for Teens and Radical Unschooling. Everyone Matters and antispeciesism are generally against discrimination, including ageism.

And it’s on antispeciesism that I’ve found a link to Why Children Should Rebel by Eugene Khutoryansky.

Hey, wasn't there an entry in here? Where'd it go?

I can't remember who posted it, but I thought it was a good one, and I wanted to look at the link...

Wahh, I am confused.
